On Saturday, June 20, Juneteenth weekend, the historic Hippodrome Theater in Jackson Ward presents SONGS of TRUTH: The Awakening, a concert presentation of a new musical about Sojourner Truth, a woman whose every step was guided by her faith. Richmond's beloved Desirée Roots stars as Sojourner, joined by a full cast and renowned Richmond musicians including Weldon Hill, Mike Hawkins, and James "Saxmo" Gates.
