Sarah is a blended vocational priest in the Diocese of Virginia who is concurrently employed as a professor in the School of Social Work at VCU.  Sarah's role as local formation director for the St. Phoebe School for Deacons is housed at St. Mark's.  A career long social worker, Sarah was subsequently ordained as a priest in May 2019 after completing seminary through the low-residency program at Church Divinity School of the Pacific.  She previously worked as a grief counselor and hospice social worker in her hometown of Buffalo, NY and also spent time in St. Louis, MO where she completed her PhD in Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. The St. Phoebe School for Deacons is a partnership among the Dioceses of Virginia and Southwestern Virginia, along with the Center for Anglican Learning and Leadership at Church Divinity School of the Pacific (CDSP).  During 2022, Sarah will be spending several residencies at CDSP as the St. Margaret's Visiting Professor of Women in Ministry in addition to her local formation work in Virginia.
