Online Daily Prayer and Thursday Compline

with Rev. Sarah Kye Price

Virtual Chapel of St. Phoebe - links for daily prayer are at the bottom of the homepage, 8:30am weekdays, 10:30/11:00am Saturday, Compline, Evening Prayer, or Night Prayer at 7:00pm Sundays.  The easiest way to get this worship resource is to sign up for the email list (at the bottom of the St. Phoebe page).  By doing this you'll get a link to the daily worship in your inbox.

Compline on Thursdays at 7:00pm - Join us for a time of worship and conversation, virtual doors open at 6:30pm. Meeting id is 947 247 8030.  An Order for Compline is available on the St. Phoebe site.

What is Compline, you ask: The last of the four services in the Daily Office (BCP, p. 127). It is descended from the night prayers said before bed at the end of the monastic round of daily prayer. Compline is a simple office including a confession of sins, one or more psalms, a short reading from scripture, versicles and responses, the Lord's Prayer, collects which ask for God's protection during the night to come, and the canticle Nunc dimittis. A hymn for the evening may follow the short reading from scripture. The collects may be followed by a time of silence, along with free intercessions and thanksgivings.
