Weekly Bible Study

Wednesday Morning Bible Study (September through June)

Join us to study about the people, places and stories of the Bible. This group will incorporate good biblical scholarship with sound learning principles to help you connect the biblical stories with your own faith journey. Open to all.

Wednesday mornings, 10-11:30 am, in-person and via Zoom
Led by Malinda Collier

You will need a study Bible such as the Oxford Annotated New Revised Standard Version. There are also many free online resources for the Bible readings.  We incorporate current scholarship on scripture from a variety of authors.  From time to time we read current commentary on biblical themes - these usually cost no more than $10 per person.

This fall we will revisit themes in Exodus and Deuteronomy with our beloved friend Walter Brueggemann using his Deliver Us and Hope Restored texts. During Advent we will pick up a new favorite, Amy Jill Levine reading her Light of the World. In the spring 2024 we'll be looking at the New Testament with Luke Timothy Johnson, Amy Jill Levine, Sandra Schneiders and NT Wright.
