Weekly Bible Study

Wednesday Morning Bible Study (September through June)

Join us to study about the people, places and stories of the Bible. This group will incorporate good biblical scholarship with sound learning principles to help you connect the biblical stories with your own faith journey. Open to all.

Wednesday mornings, 10-11:30 am, in-person and via Zoom
Led by Malinda Collier

You will need a study Bible such as the Oxford Annotated New Revised Standard Version. There are also many free online resources for the Bible readings.  We incorporate current scholarship on scripture from a variety of authors.  From time to time we read current commentary on biblical themes - these usually cost no more than $10 per person.

This fall we will take a new look at the women of Exodus through the work of Kelley Nikondeha, Judy Fentris Williams, and will explore how their writings intersect with Gustavo Gutierrez's work on Liberation Theology.  During Advent we will continue with Kelley Nikondeha using her text, The First Advent in Palestine: Reversals, Resistance, and the Ongoing Complexity of Hope.

In the spring 2025 we'll be looking at New Testament themes with one of our favorites Amy Jill Levine and pick up a new to us author Michael Coren.
